Beautiful Badlands
View from the Top of the Chimney, Chimney Butte, North Dakota
A significant and historically important landmark south of Medora in the badlands of western North Dakota is Chimney Butte, just off of West River Road. Theodore Roosevelt named one of his ranches (also called the Maltese cross Ranch) after it, as he viewed it daily across the Little Missouri River. The vistas seen from the top of Chimney Butte are spectacular! The is the view to the south east. Stunning!
