Snow remains in shaded area of the rugged badlands of North Dakota in north Billings County, not far from Fairfield and Grassy Butte. Magpie Creek is a favorite hiking area of ours and boasts a beautiful wooded campground as well as a trail head for the world renowned Maah Daah Hey Trail, a challenging single track trail popular with bicyclists, hikers, and horse enthusiasts. Bright blue skies of spring herald the possibility of changing seasons. Winter will be over soon, so really, isn't it spring?
