Bison
American Bison once roamed western North Dakota by the hundreds of thousands! By the mid-1880's they were nearly gone. Now, thanks to both the North and South Units of Theodore Roosevelt National Park, Bison can once more be seen as they were for centuries! Bison, Yellow Clover, and Summer Storms
When the yellow clover begins to bloom, usually in June in North Dakota, the brilliant green landscape of the badlands is punctuated in yellow! And when the dark blue skies of summer storms roll in, the world is stunning! This bison in the south unit of Theodore Roosevelt National Park, near Medora, was taking a leisurely stroll.....smelling and munching that clover, no doubt.
